The HKDSA 45th Anniversary Luncheon |Fidelity Counts, A New Horizon of Direct Selling

The Hong Kong Direct Selling Association (HKDSA) is celebrating its 45th anniversary! To mark this occasion, member companies collaborated to hold a grand luncheon on November 22, while Direct Selling Associations around the globe also extended their congratulations through video messages.


The event brought together numerous distinguished individuals from various sectors, including Mr. Joseph Yuen, Deputy Head (Community Services) of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) ; Ms. Phoebe Shing and Ms. Maggie Au, Chief Director and Director, Business Development Team Lead, MICE at the Hong Kong Tourism Board, who took the stage to share their recognition of the HKDSA's charitable efforts, as well as future development and collaboration opportunities. We were also honoured to have Prof. Lui Yu Hon, Senior Advisor to the President of HK Metropolitan University; Dr. Chen Zhen Yu, Former Chairman of HKSAR Expert Committee on Food Safety | Choh-Ming Li Professor of Life Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong; and Ms. Vivien Chan, Legal Advisor of HKDSA, joining Mr. Steven Sze, President of the HKDSA, to share insights and discuss the significance of business ethics for sustainable development.


During the chairman's speech, it was emphasized that the HKDSA will continue to adhere to five core principles, including 1. Enhancing consumers' confidence by collaborating more closely with the Consumer Council to ensure consumers enjoy their full rights and have easy access to information; 2. Creating entrepreneurial opportunities in partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Meetings & Exhibitions Hong Kong to connect the local direct selling industry with the international market for broader perspectives and exchange; 3. Upholding marketing regulations and promoting ethical business practices; 4. Committing to enhancing the professional recognition of the industry; and 5. Continuously giving back to society by maintaining long-standing collaboration with TWGHs and actively participating in community service initiatives.


The association is also dedicated to advancing the four strategic initiatives outlined in the "Fidelity Counts, A New Horizon of Direct Selling" blueprint, which are: 1. Putting people first and embodying integrity; 2. Embracing the digital era by strengthening connections and engaging globally through multimedia platforms; 3. Assimilating the up-and-coming generation to encourage diverse growth within the industry; and 4. Leveraging the influence of the Hong Kong direct selling industry to contribute to local economic revitalization and progress.


In the past 45 years, the HKDSA has remained true to its original mission, striving for excellence and adapting to changing times. We will continue to uphold the legacy of business ethics, conveying positive thoughts and messages from various perspectives and collaborating with social sectors to achieve a harmonious society.
